From The Ground Up
How I Started Roasting Quality Coffee, For a Purpose.
Hi, I'm Christian,

Late 2021 i felt a calling from God to create community where i was at. I had recently turned 18 so i was confused about how i should move forward, typical "coming of age" existential crisis-type things. I started to think about what i loved, what kind of things had formed me, and what i was passionate about. I came to a realization one day about what made me who i am, and the things that God had placed in my life that influenced my strong feelings, and even my calling to create community where I am. To give a little context, there was a big move in my early childhood from the Mid-West to the East coast because my pops got called to be a pastor for a church in Salisbury Maryland called Cross Pointe Church Of The Nazarene. Since it was such a big move, we didn't have much of a support system in terms of family connections, so my parents being the coffee addicts that they were, we started to have family game days every Saturday at our local Starbucks at the college campus there. Immediately it was a hit, it was our favorite thing to do, we would invite friends we had made at church sometimes and we would all get together and play, the coolest thing about those days were the friends we would make with the Baristas there, they were like our new adopted family, they definitely went the extra mile to treat us like one. We were there so often, and we were so well known that Baristas would play games with us on their breaks, or even on their days off they would come in and play Uno, or phase 10, or any of the other 25 card games we brought with us. We did coffee tastings, and events we grew to truly love being Jesus to these people, and being with them, so much so that we Started to bring them Thanksgiving dinner every year, turkey, mashed potatoes, everything. It was a simple way for us to show them that we loved them and valued them, all over cups of coffee, and smiles.

Coffee is so much more than a drink to me, it is the catalyst for community, the start of new beginnings, and the foundation for relationships. A great man once said "in my family we don't gather around a dinner table, we gather around a cup of coffee." (That was my dad) it's true, we have always made decisions about our lives as a family unit over a cup of strong coffee.
Here I am today, a deep love of coffee and the community it creates, and the calling placed on my life to strengthen the community around me. Join me on my mission to give everyone a quality cup of coffee that serves a purpose.
